The Chinese American Parent Association of Montgomery County (CAPA-MC) was founded in 2016 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving and advocating for Chinese American families in Montgomery County.
Our mission
Our objective is to promote Chinese American parent involvement in school communities, to advocate on behalf of our students and parents — who are often first-generation immigrants — and to establish a strong partnership with all stakeholders to address educational issues and challenges.
Chinese American parental perspectives are frequently absent from educational discussions. By collaborating with local schools, PTAs, the Board of Education, and other parent communities, CAPA-MC works to build improved opportunities for all children while navigating language, cultural, communication, and institutional barriers.
